Lore 24 240114

I’m thinking about the next iteration of my current campaign world. The party in my current campaign are on the cusp of some world shaking events, re-introducing the divine dragons of law and neutrality back to the world of Verden. In our next session, there’s a good chance (if they don’t wipe) of saving the egg of Eilifur, Divine of Death, from the hands of Thax, a Pit Fiend. So I may as well start with Eilifur!

Eilifur exists now as a being beyond the Maker’s Shield, a divine barrier that keeps gods from interfering with Verden, and exerts his influence through Spirits. I’ll definitely need to do another post on Spirits, but, basically, Spirits are the shepherds of Living Spells, and these Spirits are the entities that grant clerics their prepared spells for the day.

Holy people dedicated to the rites of Eilifur observe the following patterns:

  • The first Imirisia of the month (First Monday) is Verndaud’s day, Eilifur’s Spirit of the Realm of Abjuration Spells.
  • The second Imirisia of the month is Kalladar’s day, Eilifur’s Spirit of the Realm of Conjuration Spells.
  • The first Neao (Wednesday) of the month is Leitadauda’s day, Eilifur’s Spirit of the Realm of Divination Spells.
  • The second Neao (Wednesday) of the month is Daudar Toframadur’s day, Eilifur’s Spirit Realm of Enchantment Spells.
  • The first Chalaro (Friday) of the month is Lifdautt’s day, the Spirit of the Realm of Necromancy Spells.
  • The second Chalaro of the month is Daudabreyta’s day, Eilifur’s Spirit of the Realm of Transmutation Spells.
  • The first Praeto (Saturday) of the month is Bautildau’s day, Eilifur’s Spirit of the Realm of Evocation Spells.
  • The second Praeto (Saturday) of the month is Blekdau’s day, Eilifur’s Spirit of the Realm of Illusion Spells.

Dragons of Neutrality, like Eilifur, increase in age by

  • Mortal souls expressing faith in rites designed by the dragon.
  • Mortal souls calling upon the dragon for aid.
  • Hoarding Treasure

Some questions I’ll need to figure out…

  • How will being reborn change a divine-dragon’s disposition? Will they be an arrogant know it all, or a playful wyrmling?
  • How has time spent bound to the Soul Anvil changed Eilifur?
  • How will Eilifur’s relationship to the Raven Queen change?
  • What are some hallmarks that will let you know that you are in Eilifur’s city state?
  • As a political entity, how will Eilifur increase his age, so that he can become an Ascended Dragon once again (an age beyond Ancient)?
